Baobab-Frucht-Pulver ist ein besonderes Lebensmittel.

Baobab ist wirklich ein besonderer Baum. Er wird mehr als 1000 Jahre alt und prägt große Teile Afrikas mit seinen massiven wurzelartigen Ästen. Sie haben weiße Blüten, die von Fledermäusen bestäubt werden und grünlich-violette Früchte. Innerhalb einer kokusnussartigen Schale befinden sich die Samen in einem blassen Pulver mit scharfem, würzigen Geschmack. Das ist das Baobab-Fruchtpulver.

Die Afrikaner*innen essen Baobab schon seit Jahrhunderten. Von Senegal bis Südafrika wird es auf verschiedenste Weise angewendet, oft wird es mit Wasser und Zucker zu einem erfrischenden Getränk angerührt.
